How to run dart spark on my own computer? - ide

I see there is a project named spark, which is a Chrome app based development environment.
It seems interesting, and I want to run it my own computer(mac os), expected to see a chrome-based IDE for dart. But I can't find any document to tell me how to run it. There are just some pages for how to develop and test, but how to run it?
I tried with the grind shell with all kinds of options, but no lucky :(

Thanks for the question! The Spark effort is still spinning up, and we're not yet ready for a public release. All the source code is available publicly, so it is possible for people to build it for themselves. Once we're further along we'll put a developer preview release up on the chrome web store.

The steps to build & run Spark IDE on Windows are:
Install Dart SDK to e.g. C:\dart-sdk
Download the Spark source code to e.g. C:\spark
Open cmd and type: cd C:\Spark
set PATH=%PATH%;C:\dart-sdk\bin
set DART_SDK=C:\dart-sdk
pub get
grind.cmd deploy
Load the upacked extension from C:\Spark\ide\build\deploy-out\web in Chrome Dev.

LUA windows: How do I launch windows metro app with Unified Remote script

I'm trying to make a custom remote for unified remote server in windows 8.1
The sample scripts have os.start(command). It works for something like calc, but I'm trying to launch a metro app 'netflix://' and Lua doesn't seem to want to accept it - I think it's not taking the front slashes.
Is there a way to get Lua to launch a metro app in windows? Thanks
Assuming you mean os.execute() command, to run commands that open files and run based on protocol association, you need to use start command:
os.execute("start http://google.com")
If you need to put the parameter in quotes, then make sure to include a pair of empty quotes as the first parameter:
os.execute([[start "" "netflix://..."]])
For os.start(), it seems that you have to pass the whole path to a command. The Unified Remote API states that it should match installed applications, but I believe it might only be applicable to applications with binaries in the PATH, which is why their example of calc works.
With this in mind, and knowing that start works well directly from PoweShell, this command does what we need:
os.start("C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\cmd.exe", "/c", "start", "netflix:");

As a side note, due to limitations on the Netflix Win10 app, I ended up simply opening Firefox and giving it the Netflix URL. Assuming default installation:

MobileFirst CLI - edit/build/test cycle

One thing I really like about the later version of Worklight/MobileFirst Studio is the faster edit/test cycle when working in the Mobile Browser Simulator: just edit, save, click Go/Refresh; no need to build/deploy.
When using CLI (6.3.0.00.20141111-1216) this does not seem to be the case. Seems like I need to do
mfp build; mfp deploy;
After every edit. Am I missing a trick?
Right now I'm thinking I need to revert to my old practice of setting up a web-server to serve directly from my product folder, which is not ideal because I then need to mock up the WL.* APIs I use.

At the current time, this is a limitation of the CLI, based on the use of a standalone MFP Server. Within Studio, some special tricks are being played, to just updated modified files. We are working to resolve this in the CLI and perform similar per file deployments, but we're not there yet. automate setup of IBM RAD and Websphere

In a project we a forced to use IBM RAD and Webspher Application Server (6.1).
Setting up the development environment is currently described in about 10 pages of wiki documentation and takes about a day if you don't do any mistake. The main parts are:
Installing the IBM Installer;
Use it to install RAD
Install a patch to the Installer;
use it to install half a dozen patches to RAD
create a network drive pointing to ...
checkout project source to ...
install WAS
configure the a WAS instance with two jdbc drivers, 6 datasources, a queue ...
I think you get the idea
I'd like to automate that process (or at lest 95% of it) to something like.
start script x.
On prompt enter a directory with at least yGB of memory available.
Get yourself a cup of coffee
start working.
What are the proper tools to get this working? Should I use something like puppet and chef? Or is that overkill and I can just zip the installation directory and change 2 registry entries?

You can script the configuration of WAS using wsadmin:

It is some effort to learn how to do so but in the end it saves a lot of time. You need to use Jython or Jacl to do so.
WAS profiles can be created headless with a response file. Use manageprofiles.bat in bin directory of WAS to do so.
Regarding RAD installation you can install the IBM Installation Manager version you need to install the patches right away and then install everything in one shot. Add the fixes you need as Repositiories right from the beginning. The fixes will be installed instead of the old versions in this case. You should have the base images and all fixes on the local disk to do so.
The installation of RAD itself can also run in headless mode but I don't have any experience in doing this.
The configuration of the RAD workspace is the next thing you want to automate. This is not so simple to do. The simplest thing you can do is to export the workspace preferences of a workspace that contains all settings to an eclipse preference file (.epf). File -> Export
This is not a complete solution but may help you a bit. Be sure to keep all settings in just one file and import that into a fresh workspace.
Use Notepad++ TextFX plugin to sort the settings in the epf file. You can then figure out which settings you need just by looking at them.
More control over the workspace settings and automated conifiguration requires accessing eclipse internal APIs and some coding.
Regarding the the project sources it depends on the SCM you are using.

Distributing TideSDK application

I recently finished an application based on Titanium, Javascript, HTML, CSS. I have only been a web designer to date so I have little experience in distributing applications. I was accustomed to the TiDev Community deploying app, which prepared the app for download and made it available for download at a given link.
But tidev community is no longer supported, so I use TideSDK Developer to package the app, which doesnt do all the hard work the other one did so nicely.
I am obviously a complete rookie to this.
Could anyone outline the steps I would need to take to go from the bundled application folder I have now (put together by TideSDK Developer), to a link that will allow customers to download and install the app or online? I know there is an issue with packaoging the app for platforms other than your own, and that appcelerator is working on a solution to this I think. I also realise I would probably have to pay to host the download online. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
You must use the tidebuilder.py script. to compile a installation package. To compile a binary for a Mac, you must run the script on a Mac, to compile a binary for windows, you must be on a windows box etc.
There is some documentation on how to use it here per platform. The command is very simple and works.
Once you have your application file (DMG for OSX or a MSI for Windows) then just distribute it however you see fit, email, putting it on your web server, whatever works for you.

Is it possible to edit an IntellijIDEA project remotely via a web browser?

I am looking for something similar to RStudio-server (r-studio), but for programming in Java/Scala.
RStudio-server accessed via web is the same as the desktop version.
May be there are other equivalent solutions, given that my problem is scarce local resources to run my programs, but plenty of resources in a remote computer.
The more seamless, the better.
It would be also good if I could just run my program remotely seamlessly (outputing like if it was local and inside the IDE).
I recently starting using Chromoting to remote into a different machine that has IntelliJ. It's convenient in that it's built into chrome and I can pretty much do this anywhere because everyone has Chrome these days. It's a very good remoting tool but it still is remoting, it has its delays and minor problems (some keyboard shortcuts don't get sent through and those options haven't been added yet).
Just an idea for something to try.
It is not seamless, but I just managed to solve the problem using the right workflow:
In the local machine:
edit files in IDEA
[optional] set the output path, if any, to your favorite file hosting service (dropbox in my case)
commit with your favorite VCS (bzr in my case, it can need a push to the remote machine)
In the remote machine:
update with your favorite VCS
compile and run with your favorite build tool (sbt in my case):
sbt 'run-main experiments.AtomicBombMain'
[optional] In the local machine again:
[optional] get the generated files at the output path at the shared folder of your favorite file hosting service
